You cannot visit Abu Dhabi without experiencing the expanses of an Abu Dhabi Desert Holiday. A stay in the desert at one of the luxurious Desert Resorts in Abu Dhabi is a must. Whether you just want to visit for the day or combine a few nights with an Abu Dhabi beach holiday, you will not be disappointed. We do suggest at least 1 night stay at either the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara or Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa and sample one of their many desert experiences or even dine out in the desert.

Whatever you choose, there really is something for everyone. For more information about what to do on your Abu Dhabi Holidays, click here.

Dining in the Abu Dhabi Desert

Dine among desert dunes at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara

You cannot go to Abu Dhabi without a desert adventure? Why not do this in the height of luxury at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara. This luxurious Desert hotel rises like a mirage among the endless dunes of Rub al Khali (the Empty Quarter), the world's largest uninterrupted sand mass, located just 90 minutes from the city.

Biking In The Desert

Specially adapted fat bikes offer days of thrilling adventure where you can climb steep dunes and then descend at full speed whilst taking in the breathtaking views from sun-kissed crests.

Get out and explore our surrounds, meeting the locals at nearby villages and crossing paths with the occasional camel herd.

Weather in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi weather is probably the biggest reason for travellers to have a holiday in Abu Dhabi. The hottest month in Abu Dhabi is August with average temperatures of 41°C and the coolest in January at 23°C with the most daily sunshine hours in June. The most rainfall is in the month of February with an average of 40mm of rain. In our opinion the best months to have a Abu Dhabi holiday are in October, due to the heat has subsided but the sea still has the warmth from the summer months. The weather in the Desert is not as humid and in the coolest months like December you can experience the nights to be a chilly 7 degs C at the coldest part of the night, which we always reckon is around 3 am. Dec-Feb are generally the coldest months.
