Must Do Courses in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Golf Club

Abu Dhabi Golf Club

Home to the annual Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, a European PGA Tour event – Abu Dhabi Golf Club is presided over by arguably the Arabia’s most iconic club house: a vast winged falcon perched atop a golf ball. Managed by Troon Golf, this award-winning facility features two distinct playing experiences, which have seen the club ranked among the World’s Top 100 courses by Golf World magazine. The Par 72 National Course covers 7,334 yards of lush fairways, undulating greens and more than 90 challenging bunkers, while the more accessible Par 36 Garden Course totals 3,299 yards. The fully floodlit, nine-hole Garden Course is also the perfect place for a spot of night golf on a championship-standard facility.

Yas Links Golf Club Abu Dhabi

Set among rolling hills and delicate mangrove plantations, Yas Links Abu Dhabi – designed by Kyle Phillips, the world-renowned course architect – is the Middle East's only true links course. Situated on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s landmark entertainment destination, every daunting, dynamic Yas Links hole has sparkling coastline views of the Arabian Gulf – indeed eight run right up along the coastline. Voted among the ‘Top 10 New International Golf Courses’ and a favourite with UAE-based players, the course has recently been acclaimed as one of ‘The World’s Top City Golf Clubs’ by CNN Travel. Yas Links is a Par 72 championship course which stretches to a demanding 7,450 yards, while a nine-hole Par 3 academy course, floodlit practice facilities and luxurious clubhouse further compliment the course.

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is the region’s first ocean course; the Gary Player-designed masterpiece respectfully harnesses the natural beauty of Saadiyat Island’s magnificent, white sand beaches for a truly unique playing experience. With the meandering, eco-conscious course providing stunning sea views, there’s also the chance to spot dolphins at play in the glistening Arabian Gulf. Three salt water lakes and restored beach and sand dunes provide majestic on-course hazards, while more than 60 bunkers force even the bravest to pause for thought on this challenging Par 72. Designed with amateurs and professionals in mind, carefully positioned tee boxes ensure the total yardage starts at 5,290, although the course can be extended to a whopping 7,784 yards for pros.

Abu Dhabi City Golf Club

The Abu Dhabi City Golf Club is a Par 70 course with a total of 6307 yards for Men and 5403 yards for Ladies. The 9-hole course design features one Par 5, six Par 4 and usual two Par 3. No matter what your handicap or length off the tee is you will face a good balance between challenging and inviting holes. Abu Dhabi Weather

When golfing in Abu Dhabi, the weather plays an important part due to the heat and humidity. The hottest month for golf is in August with average temperatures of 41°C and the coolest in January at 23°C with the most daily sunshine hours in June. The most rainfall is in the month of February with an average of 40mm of rain. In our opinion the best months to play golf are from late October to April. If you decide to play golf in the hotter months, a very very early start is recommended together with plenty of hydration!
